Susan received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and began practicing family law as an intern even before her graduation. While in law school, she was also employed by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel at the Washington State Bar Association as the administrative assistant for the Ethics 2003 Special Committee, as well as interning for a quarter with Justice Mary E. Fairhurst of the Washington State Supreme Court.
Specialized training in Collaborative Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution
Susan Carroll is specially trained in Collaborative Law and is certified in mediation by the University of Washington Professional Mediation Training Program.

Volunteers skills to organizations working towards improving family law
She has previously volunteered for the King County Dependency CASA program as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children and currently volunteers with the KCBA Kinship Care program assisting with third party custody cases. She is also the liaison between the KCBA Family Law Section and the Unified Family Court Training Oversight Committee and has previously chaired the KCBA Family Law Section Local Rules Committee.
